⭐Title : Superfluidity of Bose-Einstein condensates in ring traps
⭐Abstract:
In this seminar, I show two results related to the properties of superfluidity of Bose-Einstein condensates in a ring trap. One is about the finding of the multiple-swallowtail structures in two-dimensional torus systems, which are non-linear band structures of the Gross-Pitaevskii (non-linear Schrodinger) equation [1]. The second one is about the decay mechanism of superflow [2]. In the recent NIST experiment, the temperature dependent superflow decay has been observed in the ring trap [3]. However, the origin of the decay is not clear. We propose that the hybrid effect of the the three-body particle loss induced superflow decay and finite temperature effects is a possible decay mechanism of the NIST experiment.
